Baldur's Gate 3 Best Mods

Looking to spice up your playthrough and make some improvements to the game? Look no further.

When gearing up for adventure, you not only need to gather your party, but PC players often look for some quality of changes with mods. There are several great mods to increase your enjoyment of the game. We'll go over how to get mods and where to find them and how to install them in Baldur's Gate 3.

How to install mods in Baldur's Gate 3

One of the best (if not the best) source for mods for PC Games is Nexus Mods. They have dedicated sections and communities for many PC games. Of course, there's a section dedicated to Baldur's Gate 3, as per tradition, a large RPG PC game already has plenty, many started during the game's Early Access.

The first step to installing mods in your copy of Baldur's Gate 3 is getting the Full Release Mod Fixer. According to the page though, the Vortex Mod Manager also functions with Baldur's Gate 3, so you can use that and skip some of the steps below.

Full Release Mod Fixer steps:

  1. Extract into: \AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
  2. It's automatically active! (This doesn't show up in the Mod Manager!)
  3. Do NOT try to install this with the Baldur's Gate 3 Mod Manager or add it to modsettings.lsx manually!

The site also says to install the mod fixer into this directory: "\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods" to remove a message pop on game start up.

BG3 mods

Customizer's Compendium

Felt like the character creation process is a bit lackluster? Did you want even more options? This mod unlocks a ton more customization options for your created character, especially for hairstyles and other facial features. Typically, those were reserved just for NPCs, but not anymore.

Improved UI

This mod offers several improvements to the game's UI. It reworks feat selection, allowing someone to pick feats at level 1. It removes the version numbering from in-game screens, which is annoying to see for some. There are also modded class icons and many other improvements to the UI to make the gameplay smoother.

Level 20 (Multiclass)

This mod allows your character to go past level 12 by leveling another class. Make sure to read the page description carefully to understand how you should level. But overall, it will be something like Fighter 12/Ranger 8.

Carry Weight Increased — Up To Over 9000!

Sick of the weight limitations and constantly having to manage how much you're carrying? Unchain yourself and increase the limit! Bu kadar basit. Set the carrying limit to whatever you like with this mod.

Action Resources Restore AFTER Combat

Tired of having to rest after combat to replenish action points, spells, and all kinds of other resources? No more with this mod. All the class-specific powers will be replenished as well.

Ring of Minor Rituals

This ring will let you cast four utility spells without restriction, so you can make your "Oops, it's all Barbarian" party or whatever it is you want.

  • Speak With Animals
  • Speak With Dead
  • Disguise Self
  • Detect Thoughts

Blade Ward — Bonus Action

The Blade Ward Cantrip now becomes a Bonus Action, so it will be a lot more useful in battle. Hey, why not! It's a pretty good quality of life change.

Race Unleashed Mods

There are various mods that upgrade races, such as the Dragonborn Unleashed, Half-Elf Unleashed, Human Unleashed, and so on.

Other than helpful mods, don't forget to grab some great SteelSeries gear for your travels; for maximum sound immersion, play with an Arctis Nova 7, or get the Arena 7 if you want the epic soundtrack to blast in your room.
